On this tour of Langa Township you will meet the local people forging the hopes and dreams of our young democracy. You will experience the day to day life in the township and learn more about the multi-cultural way of living, traditional values and the new urban lifestyle and social issues of forced removals.
You will visit Bo-kaap and walk through the picturesque Malay Quarters. You will also visit District six and will meet local talented artists, performers and crafters in action as well as Langa local projects -initiated by women and the youth community. You will also walk through the migrant hostels and community schools and will visit Khayelitsha (Cape Town’s largest Township).
All this is followed by dinner at the Lelapa restaurant with entertainment of live music and dance.
This visit would be a perfect opportunity should you wish to take something like surplus sports gear or stationary / used clothes etc. to donate to the local children and community?
